There are a number of entities that have a direct responsibility for economic development in Scotland County such as Scotland County Economic Development Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, and the TDA. But these entities are only the tip of the iceberg.
Add to these entities a cross-section of business leaders across industries, a vibrant downtown/ main street; a working airport; strong county and city governments, prominent education institutions, workforce development organizations and others, and you start to see a community with many oars in the water, all working towards the same goal: making our community a better place for business, and a better place to live.
These groups and their leadership have come together to join forces to grow our community. Specific groups have been developed to address specific opportunities (such a group is championing the Certified Retirement Program). All are focused on one, over-riding economic development objective: to give businesses and individuals a reason to “Grow Together in Laurinburg/Scotland County.”
