St. Andrews University
St. Andrews University is located in Laurinburg and, in fact, neighbors Scotia Village (with some of the professors living in housing at ScotiaVillage). In addition to the footprint, the two also share a number of programs – most notably, SAILL -- Saint Andrews Institute for Lifelong Learning.
Richmond Community College
Richmond Community College (RCC) has a branch campus in downtown town Laurinburg, and provides considerable classes and events for adult education and activities. RCC also sponsors the DeWitt Performing Arts
Series held at the Givens Auditorium on the main campus in Rockingham.
Scotia Village Retirement Community
In addition to the SAIL program, Scotia Village is initiating a program called “Enlighten” where they have hundreds of subjects available via interactive tele-conferencing. Scotland County Parks and Recreation
Scotland County Parks and Recreation offers considerable socialization for seniors through a variety of classes, clubs and events at their facilities. A complete calendar of events is available monthly for each facility.
Storytelling and Arts Center
The Storytelling and Arts Center is the home of the arts in Scotland County. It is the headquarters of the Arts Council and is the host of events throughout the year. Most recently they have added a “Thursday Night Arts” Program – a weekly program that features hands-on art classes/sessions, exhibits and speakers
